Welcome 2006!
It has been a very hectic writing year for me. I have had to stay focused on my book project that is approaching seven years of work. This is a very interesting project but there was so much to learn and so many locations to travel to. This year, I have stayed on task and have finished up all my note taking for this project.
I have used 68 reference books to learn about my subject. From these books, I have filled four notebooks full of notes. This is a long process to categorize the books, give them writing codes and categorize the notes to be used.
Now, I am in the process of sorting through primary and secondary sources. I have hundreds of photocopies that need to be filed and categorized, so I can access them immediately when I am in the writing process.
To organize research material and to remain organized during the writing process, I believe, is one of the hardest tasks of my work.
This organizational process should take another two weeks and after that I should be able to start to write.
My New Years resolution is to try to maintain a happy and positive disposition throughout the year. Some of my work can be very frustrating and that isn’t good for creativity.
